Crazy Rumors: Part 4

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!!

Since I've been crazy about peppermint and candy cane everything lately, I thought I'd do a collection of Crazy Rumors Peppermint/Candy Cane lip balms. I don't have any more full collections, just bits and pieces of certain collections so I'll have to figure out a way to group them! I love Crazy Rumors lip balms, there are so many interesting flavor combinations to choose from! (You can find my previous Crazy Rumors reviews here, here, and here.)

Company: Crazy Rumors

Flavors: Peppermint Lemongrass (Brew), Pineapple & Peppermint (Candy Cane), and Pear & Peppermint (Candy Cane). Okay, first of all...these balms rule. The Peppermint Lemongrass is a beautiful blend of peppermint and lemongrass. As you probably know by now, I love balms that have lemongrass in them. It always adds something a little more to a good balm. Both scents compliment each other in this balm, with neither of them being stronger than the other. You can literally smell both! I thought for sure the peppermint would be more powerful. The Pineapple & Peppermint is so interesting! It's sweet, fresh pineapple with just a hint of mint! It's not crazy strong in scent, but it is noticeable. It's wonderful. And like the Peppermint Lemongrass, neither scent overpowers the other which is amazing! You can smell both clearly, just wonderful! The Pear & Peppermint was definitely a combination I have never seen before, which is exactly why I had to try it. The pear scent in this balm is wonderful, it's not too strong which I love because I'm starting to not like pear balms because the pear is just so overwhelming most of the time. The mint isn't as strong in this one as the other two balms, but still a great balm!

Wear: These balms go on super smooth! In addition to being smooth, they go on with great coverage! One or two swipes and you're good to go! One application will last you about 2 hours, which is fabulous.

Packaging: These balms come in your average sized lip balm tube. They have labels that are designed to match the collection the balm belongs to, as well as matching all the other balms Crazy Rumors makes. The labels have a neutral tan background and have a colored stripe that contains the balms flavor as well as an image for which collection the balm belongs to. These balms are very distinct due to the Crazy Rumors logo and name on top of the flavor of the balm.

Price: $3.49 per tube, or $13.49 for one collection (4 tubes). Not a bad price for a natural balm!

Rating: 5 out of 5 twists, I really like these balms! I will forever be after every Crazy Rumors balm. I'm kinda mad at myself for not buying the whole Candy Cane collection. I don't know why I didn't, I love peppermint and candy canes!

Coquette Bath

A couple of weeks back, balms from this company were included in my shopping spree I had on Etsy. I was really excited to try these balms, but was disappointed when I ripped open my package to find that two balms I had ordered were not in my order. Two other balms that look almost identical in appearance took their places, but not to worry! I quickly contacted Cari and she was so amazing and sent replacements the next day. I LOVE when sellers are great with customer communication. Without further adieu...

Company: Coquette Bath

Flavors: Lemon Drop, Coconut Peach, Lemon Mint, Coconut Lemongrass, Vanilla Honey, Herbal. The Lemon Drop is a very light lemon scent, not as a strong as I would like (as most of you know by now, I LOVE lemon everything, the more lemony...the better!). The Coconut Peach is a wonderful combination of both fruits! You can definitely smell the coconut in the balm with slight undertones of peach, it's lovely. The Lemon Mint is just as good as I expected, sweet lemon with refreshing mint. Yum! Two of my favorite things in one balm, you definitely can't go wrong! The Coconut Lemongrass is just like all my other coconut lemongrass balms except not as strongly scented. It's sweet and candy-like; it's so hard to describe the scent but it's just amazingly delicious! I just wish this one was a bit stronger. The Vanilla Honey and Herbal were the two balms that were accidentally sent to me the first time, they do look EXACTLY like the Lemon Mint and Coconut Lemongrass. As you may also know by now, I do not like honey. I have given it so many chances, it's just not something I enjoy. So I only opened this one to sniff it, never used it. It smells just like vanilla and honey and is much more strongly scented than other balms. I'll probably use this in a giveaway in the near future. The Herbal is something I'm so glad was given to me by accident as I probably would have never tried it otherwise! It's supposed to be cinnamon, ginger, and peppermint--what a combination! I think it is exactly all those things, the cinnamon and peppermint are pretty distinct as they're both pretty strong scents and I can only tell the ginger every now and then.

Vanilla Honey and Herbal lip balms.

Wear: These balms go on a bit sticky, not as smooth as a lot of my other balms. There's a bit of a fight since it doesn't just glide on perfectly. I feel like I have to push it and go over my lips a few times to get some decent coverage. After it's on though, it lasts about 2 hours which is always good.

Packaging: The balms come in your average sized lip balm tube with labels that are colored to match the flavor of the lip balm. This is always good, but in this case the colors of the tubes are just too close to each other! I suppose if you don't order so many flavors that have the potential to come in the same colored label you'd be okay! The labels have a black panel with white flowers at the bottom and have the flavor of the balm in big writing underneath 'KISS' in big letters.

Price: $3.25 a piece of 3 tubes for $9 which is not too shabby!

Overall:
Pros: Flavors, Long Lasting, Price, Customer Service
Cons: Labels look identical (not that bad, but when it causes a mix-up!), not a super smooth glide

Rating: 3 out of 5 balms; these balms were pretty good, but I wasn't terribly blown away by them (except for the Lemon Mint...Love!). Some of the flavor combinations are interesting (like the Herbal), but I like my balms to be a bit stronger in scent (which I know is a personal preference, but hey, it's my blog!). If there's a flavor you really want to try (like the Lemon Mint) or like balms that aren't crazy heavy on scent, definitely try this company out!

Orange Thyme: Additional Balms

Okay by now you guys probably realize that I love balms from Orange Thyme. I mean seriously, those balms are fabulous! If you haven't picked up a few from her yet, you should definitely go and get some. Lucky for me, and anybody else who seized the opportunity, she had a sale a few weeks ago on new summer/spring flavors! Yay! Of course I didn't hesitate to snatch up a few. If you always happen to just miss a sale or never know they occur, make sure to like Orange Thyme on Facebook to stay up to date.

Company: Orange Thyme

Flavors: Peppermint, Meyer Lemon Cupcake, Strawberry Lime Margarita, Coconut Lemongrass, Creamsicle, and Vanilla Pear. The Peppermint is AMAZING, it's minty yet smells a little sweet to me as well. It's like a candy cane, it's just perfection...everything I expect from a peppermint balm. The Meyer Lemon Cupcake smells just like a baked lemon desert, similar to the lemon cupcakes I whipped up last week. It's a great balm to have around when you want a baked treat without the calories...har har. Now the Strawberry Lime Margarita, I should mention that I've never been fond of margarita flavored balms or margaritas in general (tequila is just not my thing). I can sense a lot of lime but not a strong smack-you-in-the-face lime and a faint strawberry. It's not my absolute favorite balm from her but it is a good balm regardless. Now the Coconut Lemongrass is just PHENOMENAL. Definitely my favorite of the bunch. I don't know why I've never purchased Coconut Lemongrass balms before because they seem to be my favorite right now. It's just like candy, it's sweet and just all around wonderful. Seriously, invest in this balm. The Creamsicle is exactly like an orange dream bar. A perfect, not an artificial flavor in any sense, blend of orange and cream. Unlike the Orange Cream Burst from Chapstick, this balm has a very natural scent and is much more enjoyable. Don't get me wrong I also love the Chapstick version. When I was ordering I was going back and forth between ordering Vanilla Pear and finally decided not to because I had ordered so many balms already, but imagine my surprise when the freebie I received was none other than Vanilla Pear! Yay! I was so happy to have gotten it. Some vanilla pear balms I've come across give me this sick feeling and aren't exactly my favorite balms to use but this one is much more pleasant. It's a 50/50 mix of Vanilla and Pear but isn't overly scented like some of my others. It may be just me but I'm not sure I'm a huge fan of vanilla pear as a combination.

Wear: SMOOOOOTTTHHH. Without fail, these balms are the smoothest. They are just absolutely the smoothest balms to apply.

Packaging: The tubes are your average sized tubes with cute colored labels that correspond to the flavor. The flavors are written in a very cute font, these balms are just all around adorable.

Price: $3.25 a tube, pretty great for a natural, smooth, amazing balm.

Overall:
Pros: Flavors, packaging, price, application
Cons: None!

Rating: 5 out of 5 twists, I'm never disappointed with a purchase from Orange Thyme.

I also have been obsessed with checking Etsy.com for tons of handmade balm and different brands and crazy unique flavors. My boyfriend promised me at least 11 sticks of balm for Valentine's day so I'm holding him to that--which means I'll have even more awesome balms to review!
