PuurBody Part VI

Sometime ago, there was a sale over at PuurBody and I was, of course, obligated to buy a few balms because well: 1.) I'm the Lip Balm Wrangler, and 2.) I can't resist a sale. So I picked out a few flavors I hadn't tried yet, and well, that's what got us to here today!

Company: PuurBody

Flavors: Umbrella Drink, Creme Brulee, and Spumoni. The Umbrella Drink was not quite what I expected, it wasn't as fruity as I thought it would be and actually smelled more like soap. Rob and I thought it smelled like a light fruity soap that you sometimes get in bathrooms at nice hotels? That's the best way we could describe it! It also actually smells a little floral to me, like roses! The Creme Brulee wasn't quite what I was expecting either, instead of a caramel and vanilla creaminess, I smell Waffle Crisp cereal? Don't get me wrong, it smells freaking delicious to me, but it's not quite creme brulee. It smells more like maple syrup and brown sugar which smells freaking fantastic! The Spumoni was definitely something I've never had before and I was super intrigued since it was supposed to be pistachio, vanilla, and cherry; three of my favorite lip balm flavors in one! This one I can't tell you what it smells like, honestly, Rob and I have been racking our brains trying to find out what this smells like and it doesn't smell like anything I've had. It doesn't smell like pistachio, vanilla, or cherry, it smells like an unscented balm, but with a scent of some sort. Does that make sense?

Wear: These balms were a little stiffer than my usual PuurBody balms, but after a little while they softened up a bit. With two swipes on top and two on bottom, you've got a ton of creamy balm on your lips. These balms always leave my lips feeling soft and smooth. What's not to love about that?

Packaging: The Creme Brulee and Spumoni balms come in your average sized lip balm tubes and the Umbrella Drink balm comes in an oval tube. All tubes have white labels on them which have the shop name clearly stated on front, and just below it in a colored rectangle (colored to match the flavor of the balm) is the flavor of the balm.

Price: $3.50 per tube which is definitely more than I'm willing to pay for a PuurBody balm!

Overall
Pros: Wear, Packaging, Price, Flavors
Cons: Flavors were a little off

Rating: 4 out of 5 twists. I know, you're probably wondering "how can flavors be a pro and a con?" Well, that's because even though the flavors were off from what I thought they were supposed to be, I still liked them! I mean, come on, Waffle Crisp in a lip balm? Amazing! I love PuurBody balms and have yet to be dissatisfied with any of my purchases.

Ingredients: Castor Oil, Beeswax, Shea Butter, Cocoa Butter, Fragrance, Essential Oil

PuurBody Balm of the Month: March & April 2013

There was a little mix up with last month's balm of the month, but now I've got this month's and last month's balms to review! Both of these are going to be perfect for summer! I love these lip balm of the month subscriptions, trying a new balm each month is so exciting (not that I'm not trying tons of new balms each month, but these ones I don't pick out!).

Company: PuurBody

Flavors: Oh My Darling and Cabana Boy. Oh My Darling smells amazing! It smells exactly like fresh clementines, one of my most favorite fruits! I can finish one of those crates in a day, I can never eat just one or five! This balm is sweet, fresh and citrusy, just lovely. The Cabana Boy smells creamy and tropical and definitely reminds me of being on the beach. This balm is a perfect blend of warm vanilla and tropical coconut with a hint of lime! Definitely one of my lip balm picks for summer!

Wear: These balms both go on super smooth and creamy, they glide right onto my lips! These balms don't just sit on top of your lips, but sink into them and really makes them soft.

Packaging: Oh My Darling comes in a lovely oval tube and Cabana Boy comes in your average sized lip balm tube. Both labels are simple and to the point, the flavor of the balm is stated below the shop name in a rectangle that is colored to match the flavor of the balm.

Price: $3.50 per tube which is totally worth it!

Overall
Pros: Flavors, Wear, Packaging, Price
Cons:

Rating: 5 out of 5 twists. I really like these balms! They're really wonderful. I can imagine that these will be getting a ton of use this summer, need I say it one more time? These will be great for summer!

Ingredients: Castor Oil, Beeswax, Shea Butter, Cocoa Butter, Fragrance, Essential Oil

PuurBody Balm of the Month: February

Yes, yes, I know it's not February anymore, so sue me! This just didn't fit perfectly in my schedule, but now it does! So let's see what PuurBody sent me this month, shall we?

Company: PuurBody

Flavor: Pom-Pout, yes that's right, my balm this month was a lip tint! And I have to tell you, holy smokes does this lip tint smell INCREDIBLE! It's pomegranate and sweet and fruity as heck! I love it! The second I popped the cap on this one, I couldn't stop sniffing it and then applying it! It's one of my favorite scents from PuurBody. So yummy!

Wear: This tint goes on super smooth and creamy. One swipe on top and one on bottom is good enough to provide great coverage! Since my lips are already pretty dark, you can't really tell that this is tinting my lips at all. My boyfriend said, "It just makes your lips shiny." It looks like it should be a purple/brownish/deep deep red tint, but on me it doesn't show up as anything. When I put it on my wrist it looks a bit bronze-like and shimmery. I know not my best description of this balm, but that's what it looks like to me!

Packaging: This tint comes in your average sized lip balm tube with a white label. The label has the shop name and "Pom-Pout" in a deep red colored rectangle.

Price: $4.95 per tube which isn't too bad for a lip tint, since it is an alternative to lipstick.

Overall
Pros: Flavor, Wear, Packaging, Price
Cons:

Rating: 5 out of 5 twists. I really like this balm even though it doesn't tint my lips at all, which may actually make me like this balm more since I'm not a huge fan on lip color any way. I'm so in love with this scent!

Ingredients: Castor Oil, Beeswax, Shea Butter, Cocoa Butter, Fragrance, Essential Oil, Lip Safe Micas

PuurBody

I had always eyed PuurBody balms, there were so many flavors and many that I would love to try. I don't know why it took me so long to place my first order, but it did and just like always, I kick myself over and over for waiting so long! I had so many mishaps with this order it was almost funny (keep in mind it was during the chaos that is Black Friday). First, the tracking info for the packages were switched and I received one package that said it hadn't been delivered, but didn't receive the package that said it was delivered. Then the package that did arrive was delivered a second time (I received the same order twice instead of two separate orders). Then when the correct order came, one of the balms twisty thingy was broken so I couldn't get any balm out. Then I moved and had subscribed to her lip balm of the month club and had to switch addresses. Even through ALL of that Brandi sure was a trooper! It was Black Friday after all and I definitely was in no hurry to get it all at once, I knew that she would do her best and that everything would work out in the end. She was so wonderful and quick about replies and I always felt bad about messaging her, I'd even hold my breath and cringe as I hit enter, only to be met with a sweet reply. My boyfriend knows how guilty I felt having to message Brandi so much, it eats me up inside to have to bother someone!

Company: PuurBody

Flavors: Dill Lime, Dutch Girl, Coconut Banana, Thai Spice, California Dreamin', Pom-Orange, and Pink Grapefruit. Blood Orange was also in this order, but it was reviewed previously as a lip balm of the month; and Apple Pie was also part of this order, but it will be reviewed later as this month's lip balm of the month! I had no idea what to expect of the Dill Lime because I've never had such an interesting flavor combination before. This balm smells so unique! It is clearly citrusy, tangy lime with a handful of dill. It actually smells really good! Oh the Dutch Girl, boy does this one smell AMAZING. Rich chocolate blended with sweet orange, this scent is so decadent and wonderful. Definitely one of my favorites! Another one of my favorites is the Coconut Banana, it smells delicious! Finally a balm that gets the proportions right, equal parts banana and coconut with neither scent overwhelming the other. The Thai Spice was also another flavor that I was unsure about what I should expect, it definitely reminds me of Thai food. You can surely smell equal parts peppermint and lemongrass, it's such an interesting flavor combination! The California Dreamin' is another one of my favorites, it's amazing! A wonderful blend of orange and vanilla, it's not too strong and not too light, it's perfect. The Pom-Orange is another one I can't get enough of! It's so sweet and fruity and all around wonderful. You can smell the slightly tart, yet sweet pomegranate combined with fresh juicy oranges. It's lovely. The Pink Grapefruit is a true grapefruit scent, light and delicate, yet citrusy and tangy.

Wear: All of these balms go on super smooth and creamy. They go on a bit thicker than other balms, in my opinion, which is so wonderful! My lips feel really nourished and smooth after wearing one of these balms. So let's see, smooth, creamy, thick, and long lasting. What else do we need?

Packaging: These balms come in your average sized lip balm tube with white labels that have the shop's name in big letters right on front, along with the flavor of the balm and the type of balm it is (vegan or beeswax). Some balms have a colored rectangle that has the flavor of the balm in it and some do not. The one's that don't have a colored rectangle with the flavor of the balms on the label have a sticker on the top of the cap with the flavor of the balm.

Price: $3.50 per tube which is definitely worth it for one of these balms!

Overall
Pros: CUSTOMER SERVICE, Flavors, Wear, Packaging, Price, everything!
Cons:

Rating: 5 out of 5 twists, you can't go wrong with one of Brandi's balms. Both formulas, vegan and beeswax, are amazing and all the flavors are wonderful. Working with Brandi has been a wonderful experience.

Ingredients:
Vegan-Castor Oil, candelilla wax, shea butter, cocoa butter, flavor oil, and/or essential oils
Beeswax-Castor oil, beeswax, shea butter, cocoa butter, fragrance, and essential oil
