Haul of the Week 1.9.13

When I arrived in San Francisco last week, I had a few packages waiting for me that I was very eager to open! It was so tough for me to wait to get to these balms, some which I had ordered almost a month ago but had them sent to my new address in case shipping took a long time. Here's what I've received:

PuurBody

This is January's lip balm of the month, it's wonderful! Even the boyfriend likes it!

Live Beautifully

I went a little overboard on my first purchase from Live Beautifully, but they had a deal where if you bought 3 lip balms you got one free! So I had to take advantage, right? They also threw in a sample lip balm pot, score!

Ripe Shop

This shop had a couple more flavors I was tempted to try, so I did!

Summer ScentSations

I had seen these balms before on Etsy, but when I saw that they were on sale for $1.25, I had to try some!

Bath and Body Works' Liplicious Lip Gloss

The BBW's Semi Annual Sale is going on and my boyfriend's dad had given me a BBW giftcard for Christmas, so I had no reason not to buy these! The Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin is my favorite right now. Yum!

Softlips Winter Mint

I have yet another wonderful Softlips™ flavor for you all today! This will be the last of all the Softlips™ holiday and winter flavors for this season! I hope this series of Softlips™ reviews will help you in deciding which flavors to try out!

Company: Softlips™

Flavors: Vanilla and Winter Mint. The Vanilla is a cool and creamy light vanilla scent. It also has a little bit of cooling effect when I put it on, I think it's lovely! The Winter Mint is amazing! It's a light, cool and tingly mint balm. To me it smells peppermint with a little bit of creaminess, kind of like it has a little bit of vanilla in it.

Wear: Super smooth, the glide on these balms is wonderful! These balms are creamy and make my lips feel soft and moisturized.

Packaging: By now everyone should know what a Softlips™ lip balm looks like; they come in thin white tubes about half the diameter of your usual lip balm tube. The colors on the tube match the flavor of the balm which is very nice and pleasing to the eye. These balms also can be found in the limited edition holiday packaging that would be a great gift as well as a functioning gift tag!

Price: $3 to $4 for a 2-pack of Softlips™ which is definitely not bad!

Rating: 4.5 out of 5 twists. I really enjoy these winter and holiday balms from Softlips™ and I would definitely recommend them.

Softlips Sugar Cookie

These flavors from Softlips™ are perfect for the winter season. I'm so happy to have these flavors in my purse to use when it's cold out. This flavor is probably one of my favorites from Softlips™.

Company: Softlips™

Flavors: Raspberry and Sugar Cookie. The Raspberry smells just like you would expect, tart yet sweet. The Sugar Cookie smells wonderful! It's light, sugary, and buttery just like the delicious baked treat. It smells incredible without being overwhelming.

Wear: These balms glide on smooth and make my lips feel soft and nourished. I love the way Softlips™ balms make my lips feel! I'm wearing the Sugar Cookie right now and it feels so creamy on my lips.

Packaging: Softlips™ balms come in thin white tubes which I think are so adorable and very different from other lip balm packaging. The colors of the fonts on these tubes match the flavor of the balm and just add to the aesthetics of the packaging. And right now you can find these balms in special holiday gift tag packaging, perfect for giving as a gift as it has "To" and "From" placements on it. Cute and functional, gotta love that!

Price: $3 to $4 for a dual pack of Softlips™ which I think is definitely worth it!

Highlights from the First Year

I know it may seem trivial to some of you that my blog has made it to one year, but honestly I am still amazed that I've reached this point. When I first started this blog, I thought it was just going to be a hobby I started to kill some time (I was on vacation when I started this blog and had a lot of down time) and that I wouldn't get very many views and that eventually I would just forget to write and the blog would kind of fade away. Boy, was I wrong! I started getting maybe 10 or 12 views a day and I thought that was amazing, and then I started getting my first comments and  that was enough encouragement to continue writing my little posts. I had originally only meant to write maybe 8 or 10 posts a month about 2 posts/1 day a week, but as the readership kept growing, I knew my blog had to keep growing as well. So I kept coming up with new ideas. First it was posting about sales, and it moved to posting balms I've been eyeing, balms I've been using, etc until I was posting a minimum of 7 posts/6 days a week! I also never thought I would get sponsors for this little blog of mine, I think I was near tears when I got my first sponsor (ForGoodnessGrape). I am grateful for everything that has happened on this blog, all of my interactions with you all, every comment, every e-mail. I'm happy that there are people out there who actually want to read these little posts of mine.

Balms of the Week 1.6.13

This week has been keeping me so busy and so exhausted! Celebrating New Years, squeezing in last minute family time with my sister and parents before my boyfriend and I headed to San Francisco, lugging 400lbs of luggage to our apartment, attempting to unpack all of my things....it's been hectic to say the least. But these were the balms I've kept by my side through all of this craziness this week:

Long Winter Farm's Coconut Peach

I am SO happy that I received this balm from one of my readers, it's definitely one of my favorites! It's been in my pocket of my main jacket for the last week!

ForGoodnessGrape's Banana Buttercream

This one has become a staple among my every day balms, I just love it so much!

LUSH's Chocolate Whipstick

Still my favorite lip balm for when I really need some extra moisture for my dry lips.

I was finally able to open this package, it was one of the ones waiting in my mailbox when I arrived in San Francisco, and oh my goodness this balm is wonderful!

HUGE First Birthday Giveaway!

As most of you know, my blog just turned one this week which is a huge milestone for me. I never thought it would get to this point. Without all of you, my blog would not be what it is today! As a way to celebrate this milestone and to show you a bit of gratitude, I'm going to host a huge giveaway comprised of some prizes that were the most popular in my previous giveaways. Basically, it's another chance to win some of the most sought after balms from previous giveaways with a few added extras.
