Epically Epic Soap Co.

Thanks to one of my readers, who recommended Epically Epic Soap Co. a while ago, I've got to try some pretty awesome balms from this company. I had always seen these balms around on Etsy (one of my greatest additions, I'm sure we all have that in common) and wanted to purchase but just never did. Usually it takes a reader recommending something to push me to buy an item I've had my eye on for a while. Let's get to it, shall we?

Company: Epically Epic Soap Co.

Mango Lassi, P.O.G., Mango Lychee
(left to right)
Flavors: Mango Lychee, Mango Lassi, P.O.G. (Passionfruit Orange Guava). I really love the Mango flavors; I've been looking for a decent mango lip balm since mangoes are probably my number one favorite fruit (despite the crazy--to me--amount of calories in one). The Mango Lychee is definitely a mango-esque balm. I don't really sense the Lychee in it but it must be what makes this balm different from the Mango Lassi balm. Maybe I just can't pick out the Lychee out of it but the two balms are different in scent. The Mango Lassi seems a bit sweeter than the Mango Lychee, but is definitely still very mango-y. Not the mango-y I was looking for but it will definitely do. I was really looking forward to the P.O.G. lip balm since I love tropical mixes like that but there was something in it that I just didn't care for. This balm was very floral to me and everyone knows how much I dislike a floral balm. If you like fruity floral balms, this may be the one for you! I really wish I had picked up the Blueberry Lemonade lip balm, I kept going back and forth on Blueberry Lemonade and P.O.G.. Maybe next time!

Wear: These balms go on SO smooth and kinda thick which I like because I don't have to waste time going around and around my mouth to make sure I have great coverage. When my lips are super chapped I definitely reach for Epically Epic. They last about two hours to which is great. They even lasted through crazy amount of nose blowing (too much information? I've had a little cold lately and these balms are the only ones who last when it comes to my use of tissues).

Packaging: These tubes are really distinct out of my collection. The labels are bright colors and have a giant part dedicated to the company's name and the flavor. On the edges of the label (vertically if the tube is put standing up on a table) there is a little floral black and white pattern which to me gives these tubes a little eclectic look to it, which I totally love.

Price I paid $10.50 for 3 balms. I don't think that's really that bad for a natural, long lasting, and nourishing lip balm.

Overall:
Pros: Flavors, Wear, Packaging, Price, Vegan/Natural
Cons:

Rating: 4.5 out of 5 twists, these balms are great! If you're looking for a new balm to try, definitely give this company a shot!

Ingredients: Pistachio Butter, Candelilla Wax, Jojoba Seed Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, Vitamin E, Flavor, Natural Sweetener, Mineral Colorant.

Have you tried Epically Epic Soap Co.? What did you think? If you haven't, what flavors do you think you'd like to purchase from them?

  1. Thanks for the great review! I've been eyeing this company for awhile. I really want to try their Vanilla Bean and Vanilla Coke. I'm really into vanilla scents! I should REALLY stay away from Etsy! I also wanted to say that because of your review, I tried Olimax Soaps and I am really enjoying her Earl Grey balm. I also put in an order yesterday for Long Winter Farm and can't wait to try them! Like I said, Etsy is a very bad addiction LOL! :)

    1. You're welcome! According to Denise (the lovely lady who commented below you) the Vanilla Coke is awesome! Etsy is SO dangerous, I just ended up on it for the first time in a while and I'm scared it's going to suck me in like it always does! Let me know what you think about Long Winter Farm balms because I think they are just phenomenal!

  2. I am so glad that you decided to review Allison's balms! I knew that you would like them! I highly recommend the Shamrock Shake, Vanilla Bean, Marshmellow, and Vanilla Coke which are my favorites! She will be making new scents for the summer as well! Now we have to get you to try Jadewicks lip balms. You will love her Sparkling Lychee and Asian Peach scents which are wonderful as well! Hope you feel better soon!
    Best, Denise

    1. Thank you for recommending her balms! In case you were wondering, you were the reader who pushed me to try them =). I will definitely keep those suggestions in mind the next time I purchase from her and will check back to see what new scents are added. And I JUST placed an order with Jadewicks not even a minute ago! She has a code out right now that gets you 10% off an order so I definitely jumped at the chance to try her balms. I ordered Sparkling Lychee, Asian Peach, and Blood Orange. I will let you know what I think when they arrive!

  3. Ooh 10% off! Eek haha! I will definetly be keeping an eye out for Epically Epic's summer scents! I will also be checking out Jadewicks. How can I pass up a sale?! And I'll definetly let you know how I like Long Winter Farm. They sound absolutely wonderful, even though I'm not a huge fan of beeswax lip balms. She seeks out of Unicorn Farts SO fast, they must be excellent! So glad I snagged one. :)

    2. I wanted to tell you I got my order from Long Winter Farm and I LOVE them! I'm waiting for her to restock Neon Narwhal so I can try that one next. I haven't ordered from Jadewicks yet. I'll wait and see how you like them first. Because of this blog, my lip balm collection is getting out of control Hehe!

    3. I knew you would! I love the Neon Narwhal, I feel like it goes on differently from the other balms. I can't quite describe it but I know when I need a balm to go on a certain way I pick up that one. I can't wait to receive my order from Jadewicks and I'll definitely try to post a review as quick as I can! I should include a disclaimer on the blog that I will not be held accountable for any addiction to buying new awesome balms =P.

  4. Thank you for the review, Chapstick Wrangler! I think I have pinpointed what was making the POG lip balms floral-y (that wasn't what I intended for the flavor) and I have fixed it for the next batch :)

    1. It was my pleasure! Thank YOU for making such wonderful balms! I'm glad it was actually something in the balm and not me just being crazy...floral is just not my thing. I look forward to purchasing from you in the future =).

  5. I received my Vanilla Coke balm today and it was melted. However, I put it back in the tube with a q-tip and stuck it in the fridge for a few minutes and it works just fine! Smells AMAZING! I can't wait to try more balms from this shop. I might have to wait until the cooler months. I'm so bummed it melted! Just too hot here in Texas unfortunately. :(

  6. I received my Vanilla Coke balm today and it was melted. However, I put it back in the tube with a q-tip and put it in the refrigerator for a while and it was fine. A bit lumpy on top but fine. It smells AMAZING! And lasts a crazy long time. I really want to order more flavors but now I'm worried about them melting. I might have to wait until the cooler months. Bummed about that but absolutely love the balm.

    1. Don't worry about it! It really stinks that your balm melted =(. I was terrified this week that the ones I received this week were going to be melted. This summer is going to be so hot too =(. I'm so glad your happy with your Vanilla Coke balm. Isn't it just awesome how long Epically Epic balms last? At least most balms bounce back once put in the fridge, so if you have the urge to order some balms there's at least a remedy for the melted balm.

      Thanks for sharing!
