Aubrey E. Apothecary Fall Set

I had eyed this set of balms for what felt like forever. I kept going back and forth on whether or not I wanted to try them. I had always eyed Aubrey E. Apothecary's balms in general, but had never tried them so I kept trying to decide if I would try a couple of her balms first and then buy the set or just go for it and buy the set. I wasn't sure about all the flavors in the set, but I figured that I would just go for it!

Company: Aubrey E. Apothecary

Flavors: Orange Clove, Pumpkin Cheesecake, Smores, Apple Cider, Wild Berry Preserves. The Orange Clove is very citrus-y and clove-y. It is definitely a very distinct scent. Both scents are represented equally, I can't really detect that one is stronger than the other. The Pumpkin Cheesecake is your traditional pumpkin scent with a hint of spice and creaminess. It's really pleasant! It's not an overpowering scent by any means. I didn't know what to expect of the Smores lip balm because I've never had one before, but man was I blown away! The Smores balm is dead on smores! It smells like I just fire roasted a marshmallow, added chocolate to it, and it put between two graham crackers. I didn't think you could get that scent of fire roasted marshmallow into a lip balm! It's awesome and definitely not a balm I would have tried if it hadn't been included in this set! The Apple Cider is a blend of apple juice and some spices? I've never had apple cider so I can't really compare it to anything. It's nice, not my favorite but, if you like apple cider, you would probably like this balm! The Wild Berry Preserves is AMAZING! It is an amazing blend of berries and so warm in scent. I'm not usually a huge fan of berry scented lip balms, but this one I was completely blown away by.

Wear: These balms go on really smooth and in about two swipes on top and bottom, your lips are coated! They last almost two hours which is also good. My lips feel really great after wearing one of these balms.

Packaging: These balms come in clear oval tubes that have the same weight as your average lip balm. The labels are clear that have the shop's name and flavor of the balm right on the front. The font color of the flavor of the balm matches the flavor of the balm which is a nice, subtle touch to the label. What I saw on some of the labels on some of the balms is that the font is printed very light and looks like it'll fade easily. Also the font makes it really hard to read the ingredients of the balm.

Price: This set of 5 is $17.95 which is not too bad, that brings each balm to about $3.59 a piece. Plus if you're giving this as a gift, it comes in a really cute package!

Overall:
Pros: Flavors, Wear, Packaging, Price
Cons:

Rating: 4 out of 5 twists, these balms are pretty darn great and I'd definitely recommend them!

  1. I've put these to the test.. not my favourite balms but not the worst either. I wish my lips felt a bit more moisturized afterwards and the scents not so artificial. I like the smores balm a lot, though. Not a bad balm but there are others that I much prefer. :)

    1. I agree! These balms are good, there's definitely a variety of flavors, but there are definitely balms I like a lot more than these ones.
