I try to inform you all about any and all sales on lip balm I hear about. I have yet to purchase from this company but am considering it since they are having a sale. This company has crazy amounts of flavors to offer, but their prices are a little steeper than most companies I've reviewed (shipping wise and product wise). But maybe it's because they're totally super awesome? I have no idea, but I want to find out. Anyways, here's the information for this "Christmas in July" sale on their Etsy page:

From 7/13/12 to 7/22/12 you can save 15% on your order (excluding bundles and discounted balms), but I don't think the code has been put up yet or if it is the same code. But, if you miss out on the 20% you can check their Etsy page here to follow up on a coupon code (and I'll try my best to update on the sale).

This shop has alot of great sounding flavors but like you said, the shipping really adds up. I put two balms in my cart just to see and the shipping was over $4. Even with the coupon it was only a dollar less. Hmm...
ReplyDeleteI know, I have always wanted to order from this shop but $2.54 for one tube's shipping and each additional tube is $1.54 on top of the balms being $4 a piece? That just sounds a little crazy for me. I wanted to order two balms but even with the discount I could get at least three from basically any other shop. Maybe one day I'll buy one, but it just seems too much for lip balm. She also has lip scrubs that come in lip balm tubes which I think is interesting but even those are $7.75 a piece! Yikes!

Yeah, I'm cheap so I probably won't be taking advantage of this sale. Lots of flavors I'd be interested in trying but the shipping costs are holding me back. I have started to compare everything to Orange Thyme. In my mind, no balm is as good as hers so all balms should be around $3.50. Any more than that (with the exception of Long Winter Farm, those are exceptional!), is too much. Especially if you can't get them in a package deal like Fresh & Natural Co. does with the 4/$10. I'm just fussy like that I guess. I know I can get a great product for less with other shops. I'm more than willing to try new places once though. If Goodness Grape's balms were $3.50, I'd probably order.

Haha don't worry about it! I'm cheap as well that's why I think it'll take a serious price reduction and shipping reduction for me to purchase from them. I keep comparing new companies to my tried and true companies like Orange Thyme and Long Winter Farm and just don't find it worth it to venture away from them. I'm hoping to find more companies like Fresh & Natural Co, Orange Thyme, and Long Winter Farm but For Goodness Grape just doesn't seem to be one of those companies.

I should definitely write a review of For Goodness Grape for you, I think you might change your mind! Even with her 15% off sale right now, her lip balms are $3.60 though everything ends up costing me more in Canada. I just spent $30 on 2 perfumes, a lip balm and a lip scrub. And yes, she is more expensive than some of the other companies I've checked out. But her quality is amazing, so I find it worth it. She's also pretty awesome if you're ordering quite a few things, you can get the shipping costs reduced. My shipping would've been $11, but she asked me how much I wanted to pay, I said $5? She said no problem, and refunded me the other $6! Lisa is seriously amazing and you will NOT be disappointed with her or her products. :)
