Balms of the Week 7.1.12

Here we are again, this week the balms I'm really into are:

Chamomile Pear by Jadewicks
(review can be found here)

Coconut Lemongrass by Fresh and Natural Co. (previously Lush Lip Candy)
(review can be found here)

Vanilla Mint by C.O. Bigelow
(review can be found here)
This balm is seriously fabulous for chapped lips, instantly moisturized and nourished. This has truly been my fall back lip balm whenever I'm in need of balm.

Creamsicle by Orange Thyme
(review can be found here)
This has been a balm I've been using nightly. It may be because of convenience, it's been the first one on top of my lip balm container by my headboard. But I think it's also great because it's summer.

What balms have you been using lately? Have you tried any of these balms before?

  1. I just bought a Burt's Bees 'Nourishing' (with mango butter) lip balm the other day because I love the pomegranate one I have at work. Seems ok so far.

I also ordered a couple lip balms from Goat Milk Stuff because I absolutely loved the one I had about a year or so ago and haven't really been as happy with anything else since.

    1. Hi Deb!

How is the pomegranate one? It always catches my eye but I still have yet to buy it.

I've never heard of Goat Milk Stuff before, I'll look into that company!

I also want to thank you SO much for the cat toys. We've been so busy with them I just haven't had a chance to sit down and write you an e-mail. My cats have never gone so crazy for toys before, especially that yellow mouse! It's the only one my cat brings to me repeatedly to play fetch with him (which he never did before we received your package). Thank you again!

    2. I'm glad you and your kitties are enjoying the cat toys! :)

About the balms . . . I'm finding I much prefer the pomegranate Burt's Bees over the mango one. They both work great the pomegranate seems to work a little better, and I'm not crazy about the mango scent/taste like I thought I would be.

I'm also finding that I prefer the Goat Milk Stuff balms over the Burt's Bees. I will definitely order more. Have you checked their website at all yet? I hope the balms work for you if you do try them.

  2. I generally love Burt's Bees but the Mango one did nothing for me. My favorite from them is the Pomegranate. Has been a staple in my lip balm collection for years. I just love the feel and especially the scent. I also just discovered their Acai Berry flavor and love that one too. Don't know why but the Mango just made my lips feel more dry after a few minutes on.

I love Orange Thyme's Creamsicle! The scent is just delicious and of course since it's Orange Thyme, smooth as could be and lasts a long time.

Balms I've been using alot lately would be Lip Love's Mango Peach, Orange Thyme's Lavender Soda, Fresh & Natural Co.'s Sugared Grapefruit among others!

I read your review on Firebird Bath & Body and I'm really wanting to order! Have you used their stuff recently? I have the Blood Orange in my cart right now just waiting for me to click LOL!

    1. I'm glad I wasn't the only one who felt that way about the Mango one. Maybe I should pick up the Pomegranate and Acai Berry one soon, they both always catch my eye.

The Creamsicle is awesome! I feel like its so smooth and creamy and delicious and basically great all around.

How is the Sugared Grapefruit? I've been interested in trying Orange Thyme's Sugared Grapefruit but don't know if I should yet or not.

You really can't go wrong with Firebird Bath & Body, it's not the smoothness you expect from Orange Thyme or Long Winter Farm Soap Co., it's a little more sticky than those but the flavor is great! I'm wearing Blood Orange right now and it really is one of my favorite balms of all time. It's great flavor and lasts forever. I haven't bought anything new from her recently but I do plan to (I'm eyeing her Cherry Limeade balm currently). If you order from her, let me know what you think!

  3. Thanks! The Sugared Grapefruit is very nice, you can really smell the sugar in it and I absolutely love the smell of grapefruit. I haven't tried Orange Thyme's version yet but I plan on it! I hear she is having a sale soon so I'm waiting on that to order again. :)

Also, in case you're interested, Epically Epic is having a one day 4th of July sale on her Etsy page! 10% off everything. I think I might pick up a few more balms from her and take advantage of it. I'm really enjoying the Vanilla Coke balm! It's not supposed to bs AS hot next week so hopefully they don't melt. :)
